Lexington Regional Health Center Opening an Outreach Clinic in Bertrand

LEXINGTON, NE - Lexington Regional Health Center (LRHC) is opening a clinic in downtown Bertrand. LRHC received the opportunity to purchase the clinic after receiving a call from Ruby Houck, NP. Ruby was the previous owner of the building and provided care to the Bertrand community for 17 years. Her last day in the clinic was December 31, 2017. "We brought the idea to the Board and they thought it was great. Minor remodeling was done to make it look and feel similar to our other clinics," said Barb Foss, NP. "We are looking forward to becoming more involved in the community. We recognize that small towns need access to healthcare and we want to provide the same great care that Ruby did."

"Since our beginning as the Tri-County Hospital District in 1976, Lexington Regional Health Center has sought to meet the healthcare needs of all people living and/or working in our service area. We recognize that making high quality healthcare available in rural areas is an essential ingredient in community economic vitality and quality of life," said CEO Leslie Marsh. "Opening a clinic in Bertrand was the right thing to do, so we did it. Now we look forward to working with Bertrand to build an ongoing relationship that fosters a healthy and strong community and health center."

LRHC currently has one other outreach clinic in Elwood, Nebraska. This Elwood clinic is open Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Bertrand clinic will be open Monday and Wednesday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., starting September 10th. Only 13 miles away from each other, the outreach clinics are open on opposite days if next day care is needed. Providers Steph Reutlinger, Tim Mason and Barb Foss will rotate providing care to the Bertrand clinic. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments can be scheduled by calling (308) 472-1472. Many calls have already been received from Bertrand residents, which is exciting for Nurse Practitioner Steph Reutlinger.

"I grew up in a very small town similar to Bertrand. I'm excited to get back to my roots and provide care for a small rural community. I am looking forward to providing services to all

patients including preventative care," said Steph Reutlinger, NP. Primary care, including acute and chronic care, wellness, preventative care and physicals call all be done in the clinic.

Tim Mason, NP, has always been passionate about rural healthcare. "We are able to provide the same services that you would receive in any other clinic. We want to make it convenient for the Bertrand community so they don't have to travel to receive their care."

An open house for the Bertrand Clinic will be held on Wednesday, September 12th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Previous owner, Ruby Houck, will be attending the open house. Kris Kuck Cakes of Bertrand will be supplying treats. All are invited to visit the renovated clinic and meet LRHC medical providers and staff.
