2024 Nebraska Hospital Association Leadership Institute Graduates

In 2024 Gena Carpenter, Director of Radiology, Mark Gutierrez, Director of Plant Operations and Jackie Moreno, Environmental Services Supervisor, went through 9 -month Nebraska Hospital Association Leadership Institute class. This 9-month course is a great opportunity for emerging leaders to further their leadership skills and competencies through a series of interactive sessions. Gena, Mark, and Jackie just graduated and were recognized at the NHA Annual Convention in La Vista this past week.

“The NHA Leadership Institute offers an excellent platform for enhancing leadership skills and creating valuable networks with healthcare professionals throughout the state. Gena, Mark, and Jackie are enthusiastic about expanding their knowledge and capabilities as they engage in this journey of growth and development,” said Kirsten Faessler, Chief Operating Officer. “We’re excited to cheer them on as leaders and have full confidence in their ability to guide their teams toward continued success.”
Director of Radiology, Gena Carpenter said, “What I liked most about the Leadership Institute was the opportunity to meet and collaborate with great leaders from across the state. The experience pushed me out of my comfort zone, helping to enhance my leadership skills. I learned that it’s okay to be comfortable with being uncomfortable in my leadership role. This program was an excellent networking experience.”
“I really enjoyed the ability to network with other facility leaders to see what they are doing at their locations from a maintenance and Bio Electronics standpoint. I also appreciated the training information that was presented, which will help guide me to become a more effective leader moving forward,” said Mark Gutierrez, Director of Plant Operations.
“Through the NHA Leadership Institute we obtained a lot of new information and tools. It was great to share experiences with colleagues in the healthcare field from different locations and perspectives. Being part of the Leadership Institute has transformed the way I approach my job in ways I never imagined at the beginning of the program. What I enjoyed most was learning how to rebuild myself so I can offer a better version of me to the people I work with,” said Jackie Moreno, Manager of Environmental Services.
