About Kim

Kim is a full-time Registered Nurse at Family Medicine Specialists Clinic and also assists at the hospital a few times each month.

“I am a Registered Nurse and a Certified Lactation Consultant. I’ve worked at LRHC for 7 years. In 2017 I received my nursing license and in 2020 I became a lactation consultant. I have a passion for working with mothers, babies, and children. Early on in my nursing career I felt I lacked the education to help breastfeeding mothers. I always called for help to make sure my patients were receiving the best care possible. When the CLC or IBCLC arrived, it was so nice to see these mother’s fears and anxiety being washed away. Help was there! Having lactation support made all the difference in the world for these patients. I took every opportunity I could to learn from these lactation consultants, because the work they do is life changing. They were so knowledgeable and we just wanted to be able to set our patients’ up for success.
When I became a mother, I always knew I wanted to breastfeed, but my journey was far from easy. I never fully understood the challenges and joys of breastfeeding until I had my daughter. My daughter had jaundice, but I struggled with latch and nipple trauma. The counselors that helped me were truly amazing! Day or night these ladies were here for me and helped me through my struggles. I strongly believe my journey would have been 100% different if I did not reach out and ask for help! They saved my breastfeeding journey and it is now something I cherish deeply.
It was through my own struggles and experiences that led me to become a lactation counselor. I have a passion for helping others and I wanted to become more proficient in in lactations counseling so I can help mothers in need. I have seen firsthand what support and help can do.  I want to give the best possible care while also doing something that I am so passionate about and that is helping others.”
