Hilda Alva

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lexington, NE — Lexington Regional Health Center (LRHC) is proud to announce that Hilda Alva, Spanish Interpreter, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Caring Kind Award, presented annually by the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA). For 40 years, hospitals across Nebraska have recognized exceptional health care employees who exemplify compassion, dedication, and service excellence.
Each year, NHA member hospitals select one outstanding individual to be honored at the Caring Kind Awards Luncheon, at the NHA Annual Convention. This prestigious award celebrates those who go above and beyond in their roles, demonstrating unwavering commitment to patients, collaboration with colleagues, and excellence in their responsibilities.
Hilda Alva has served Lexington Regional Health Center for 16 years, and her impact has been profound. Known affectionately as “Mama Hilda,” she is a comforting presence to patients and staff alike. Her nominator shared:
“Hilda is kind, patient, and goes with the flow. She is always there when you need her. She is one of a kind. Hilda is always happy to be working and helping others. She is willing to go above and beyond to help a co-worker or patient. She is constantly striving to do her best, as well as wanting our facility to have the best interpreters possible. She is constantly learning additional terms or ways to enhance LRHC’s interpreter services. The patients are at the forefront of her delivery in care, and she remarks often ‘we need to do what is best for the patient.’ Hilda is a face of comfort and advocates to ensure the patient is heard and understood. She is known as “Mama Hilda” to many as she is always taking care of others and making sure you know you are cared for and supported. Hilda always wears a contagious smile and has a heart of gold! She has a beautiful soul and gives her all to everyone. No one goes uncared for or unseen when Hilda is in the room.”
“It’s truly inspiring to see the impact Hilda has made over her 16 years at LRHC. Her dedication to our patients and her role as a Spanish Interpreter is evident in the strong connections she builds and the compassion she brings to her work,” said Jason Douglas, CEO of LRHC. “Her ever-present smile and commitment to doing what’s best for the patient make her a valued member of our team and a deserving recipient of the Caring Kind Award.”
Lexington Regional Health Center congratulates Hilda Alva on this well-deserved recognition and thanks her for her years of service and unwavering commitment to compassionate care.
