COVID-19 Vaccine Information

 

Entering the Facility
Lexington Regional Health Center is taking precautionary action to protect our patients, visitors, and staff from Coronavirus, specifically COVID-19. We want to keep the chance of infection as minimal as possible.
 
Your health is our #1 priority! We are here for you and will continue to be here for you. Please know that we are closely monitoring CDC guidelines and are taking all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are still seeing patients for all medical conditions/services including diabetes, well-child checks, physicals, women’s health, sports medicine, immunizations among others. To schedule an appointment, please call (308) 324-8308!
Although patients and visitors will be screened for COVID-19(Coronavirus) before appointments and at arrival, we ask that you reschedule your elective appointments and refrain from visiting if you are exhibiting signs or symptoms.
1. Fever greater than 100.4
2. Mild shortness of breath or coughing
3. Have been affected by COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the last 10 days or been around someone who has tested positive for this virus
4. Have been a close contact of someone who has tested positive and you are not Up-to-date with your COVID-19 vaccination. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html#recommendations 
Please note the Lexington Regional Health Center emergency department remains open for all medical emergencies 24/7, however if you have the above symptoms please call  prior to your arrival to allow our staff to prepare.
Visitor Restrictions

All entrances are locked except for the main hospital entrance and West Outpatient entrance.  All visitors and patients entering the facility will be screened prior to accessing the hospital until further notice. As COVID-19 continues to make an impact in our country we continue to evaluate our practices to ensure we are proactive in keeping our patients, staff and community safe.

As your health partner, our patients’ health and safety is our number one priority! We want to reassure you that we have special precautions in place your loved one’s safety.

 

Screening Questions for COVID-19

At each entrance there is a screening machine for patients, visitors, and staff to use upon entry to the facility.  The screenings are to ensure your loved one remains healthy during their stay at Lexington Regional Health Center.

Please refrain from visiting if you answer “yes” to any of the following:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Body aches
  • Sore throat
  • Recent loss of taste or smell

Our hospital team is ensuring our patients safety in several ways while they are in our care:

Keeping Our Patients Safe

  • Our care teams will be wearing surgical masks and performing frequent hand hygiene.
  • Enter through designated entrances to check-in and be screened for risk of illness.
  • Follow all infection prevention and other Lexington Regional Health Center guidelines. This includes following masking guidelines below.
  • Anyone violating these guidelines will be required to leave the facility.

Masking Guidelines

  • Upon arrival, we will provide you with a mask, if you don’t already have one. We ask that you wear it at ALL times while in the facility, including in patient rooms.
  • Masks should
    • cover mouth and nose area, fitting snuggly but comfortably against the side of the face
    • be secured with ties or ear loops
    • allow for breathing without restriction
    • be routinely laundered

APIC Guidelines

According to the APIC (Association for Professional in Infection Control and Epidemiology), COVID-19 spreads through close personal contact with a sick person and through droplets from an infected person’s cough or sneeze.
What can you do for prevention?
1. Wash your hands often. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
2. Cover your cough/sneeze with a tissue. Throw tissue away and clean hands as noted.
3. Don’t touch your eyes, nose, or mouth
4. Avoid close contact with sick people.
5. Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces often.
5. Stay home when you are sick.
