Lexington Regional Health Center will be having another COVID-19 vaccination clinic for all children ages 5 to 11 years old on Sunday, November 28th from 3:00-4:00pm. Pfizer was recently granted Emergency Use Authorization of their pediatric dosage COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11 years old. The dosage for this age group is 10 mcg versus a 30 mcg dosage for ages 12 and older, including adults. This dose is 1/3 of the dose authorized under Emergency Use for adults. Pfizer Covid-19 pediatric vaccination consists of 2 doses given 3 weeks apart. If your child receives their first dose on Sunday, November 28th Lexington Regional Health Center will give them their second dose on Sunday, December 19th.
This approval is a huge step in the direction of protecting our children from COVID-19 and assisting in putting an end to this pandemic. Entrance for the vaccine clinic will be through the West side of the hospital where the LRHC Surgical Services and Specialty Clinic is located. Both children and adults will be required to wear a mask, so please bring one with you.
