Emily is an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant and the Director of Obsetrics.
“I am a registered nurse and internationally board certified lactation consultant. I’ve worked at LRHC for over 10 years. I have always had a love for birth, babies, and breastfeeding. I fell in love even more when I met my OB instructor in nursing school who was a nurse midwife and IBCLC. After having my first baby and struggling with breastfeeding, I was led to begin my journey to become a lactation consultant. I received my CLC in 2014, and obtained my IBCLC in 2017. It is a passion of mine to educate and assist parents and babies on their feeding journey. The journey of parenting is challenging, with feeding being one of the most emotionally and physically challenging part of it. To walk alongside parents while they learn infant feeding techniques, gain confidence, resolve issues, and deepen their bond with their babies is an absolute honor and joy. So often mothers feel discouraged and unable simply because of lack of support and misinformation they’ve been told. It’s such a joy to see their faces light up when baby nurses well for the first time, when they pump and see their milk, or when all the hard work we’ve put in to a difficult issue pays off and we get to see the huge accomplishment they worked so hard for, no matter what that looks like for them. My number one goal is to support mothers and babies to meet their feeding goals, no matter what they look like, provide education, and keep mom and baby healthy. I love my job!”
